The Bachelor of Commerce prepares students for a career in accounting, banking, financial management, information systems, business analytics and management. Compulsory courses will build a solid foundation of business skills that students will apply to many decisions and issues in the contemporary business environment. These core skills are further developed in the second and third years as students specialise by undertaking one or two majors. Completing the accounting major allows students to apply for associate membership of the professional accounting bodies.
By combining the BCom with the Diploma in Languages (DipLang), students not only gain core business skills and specialist knowledge but also develop language and cultural proficiency, as well as many other transferable skills that are highly valued in the global marketplace. Through the DipLang component students can specialise in one language major or two minors, providing a distinctive edge in the international business environment where demand for language capabilities is increasing. This dual qualification ensures that graduates are well-prepared to adapt effectively to the ever-changing business landscape, making them highly sought-after candidates for employers worldwide.
